With the aim to foster gender-sensitive pedagogy in the education sector, the KINDER project has successfully conducted seven KINDER trainings for aspiring educators across Croatia. The trainings, based on the comprehensive “Program K,” were specifically tailored for students from teacher-training schools in Zagreb, Rijeka and Osijek.
The students of the Faculty of Teacher Education in Zagreb, Pedagogy students in Zagreb, students of the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences in Zagreb, and students of the Faculty of Teacher Education in Rijeka participated in these sessions. Spanning from February to May 2023, these trainings were organized and led by the Status M training team.
In total, the initiative brought together a dedicated cohort of 157 students eager to delve into the topic of gender and expand their understanding of gender dynamics in education. Each training was designed to cover essential subjects, including gender and gender norms, gender socialization, gender-sensitive pedagogy, and gender-based violence.
Throughout the sessions, participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions, collaborative activities, and reflective exercises, providing them with valuable insights into creating inclusive and equitable learning environments. By equipping these future educators with a profound understanding of gender issues, the KINDER project aims to empower them to become catalysts of positive change within the education system.
